Q. What are your admissions criteria?
We accept high school aged youth between 13-18 years of age in our adolescent treatment program, and young adults ages 18-30 in our young adult program. Our typical client is struggling with digital distractions of all types, everything from problematic video game play, to excessive Internet use, cell phone overuse, and multi-device use without clear purpose or agenda. In addition, most individuals participating in our program have co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety/social anxiety, ADD/ADHD, or ASD. Although it is possible for a person to be struggling with just distracted use alone, it’s more typical of those we treat to be experiencing problems in multiple areas of life (poor sleep and eating habits; physically de-conditioned-out of shape, over-weight, underweight; general fatigue and lack of interest in non-virtual activities, academic difficulties/failure or refusal to attend school, and a general breakdown in family and in-person social connection.
Q. What type of criteria exclude a person from consideration?
An untreated eating disorder, chronic mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia), a person who is actively suicidal or medically fragile, youth or adults who require 24-hour medical care.
Q. When will bed space be available?
We serve youth and adults on a first-come first-served, rolling admissions basis. Although we strongly encourage those interested in applying early and placing themselves or their child on the wait list if interested, we are generally able to accept clients within a reasonable amount of time. (e.g., 1-6 weeks after first contact).
Q. How many clients can you serve in your programs?
Each house in the Serenity Mountain Campus is licensed for up to 8 youth ages 13-18, for a total of 16 beds. Our life-sharing house for adults in Fall City accepts around 5 young people participating in the Young Adult intensive program. The reSTART House matches young adults to available community living options in the community post-intensive, with typical bed-space around 2-5 per apartment.
Q. Who reviews enrollment applications?
A licensed member of our clinical team reviews each application for enrollment. Medical or legal review may be required for some participants depending on their unique situations to ensure we are the best and most appropriate fit.
Q. How long will the admissions process take?
Once an enrollment application is completed and submitted, a member of our team generally reviews the application within 24-48 hours of submission.
