Could your VR headset be making you physically ill?
Similar to motion sickness, “Cybersickness” occurs when users of virtual reality, mixed reality or screen devices feel sick, nauseated or dizzy when scrolling or moving around while using a VR headset or comparable device. Researchers are examining whether cybersickness is a form of severe motion sickness.
Symptoms of cybersickness may include:
- nausea or vomiting
- mood changes
- tiredness
- fatigue
- vertigo
- light headedness
- headache
- feeling dizzy
If you or someone you care about is experiencing cybersickness, you might consider taking a break from digital media and virtual reality (VR) use. If symptoms persist, reach out to a member our team for additional support and evaluation.
