Brief Internet Game Screen (BIGS)
reSTART developed the Brief Internet Game Screen (BIGS) as a tool to screen for problematic Internet and gaming use and recommends that all screening tools be thoughtfully and carefully examined annually as their validity may be suspect due to the rapid advancement of technology. Although the idea of developing measures, testing and re-testing them over a period of time, and having them published in peer reviewed journals has been the norm, we at reSTART posit that technology is advancing at a pace much faster than the measures themselves may be created, tested, and validated.
