Growing number of kids addicted to the internet

You know your child is spending a lot of time on the computer, but the actual amount of time he or she is spending with media might surprise you.

Add up texting, games, homework and the like, and “The typical US school-aged child is spending 7 to 8 hours a day with media,” says Dr. Dimitri Christakis, the director of the Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development at Seattle Children’s Hospital.”7 to 8 hours a day, that’s more time than any activity except for sleep, and in many cases it’s more time than sleep.”
