Is your Internet or Gaming Use Problematic?

. Posted in Gaming

Problematic and compulsive use of digital technology is often referred to as an Internet Use Disorder. Although we generally understand that the Internet, or the computer in and of itself is necessarily addictive, the activities available over the Internet put certain users at risk for developing an addiction. Users may become addicted to video games, generalized Internet surfing, apps played over smart phones, and other hand held devices, as well as console gaming systems, eBooks, and use of products offered over all types of digital interface devices. While these activities in and of themselves may be seem harmless, many users find themselves trapped in a vicious cycle of use which becomes difficult to break.
